CONFIDENCE IS REALLY JUST ABOUT BELIEVING OR HAVING FAITH IN YOURSELF.
It is one of those things that can change from day to day, and from task to task, but can we increase the general setting of our confidence? What are the ways we can look at to increase our levels of confidence?
This is hard with all the 'highlight reels' of social media but we must stop comparing ourselves to others. Focus on yourself and what you are doing well. At the end of each day write one thing you did well that day.
Try standing tall and strong for a few minutes. Look in the mirror and tell yourself you are so awesome! You got this!
LEARN SOMETHING NEW
Gaining knowledge can really help us to gain more confidence. Try reading some books about a new subject or further your studies about something you feel you need to learn more about.
THINKING POSITIVE THOUGHTS
If you struggle with this, surround yourself with positive people or only follow people on social media that make you feel more positive. Learning to try and flip your negative thoughts into positive ones can be hard at first, but the more you try, the easier it becomes. Make sure you join our Creating Confidence group on Facebook.
FIND A POSITIVE ROLE MODEL
Look for someone who you would like to be like. Someone that models confidence regularly, in an authentic way. Someone that empowers you to believe in yourself.
FAKE IT UNTIL YOU MAKE IT
Sometimes I just act like I am confident and it actually makes me feel more confident.
LEARN TO SAY 'NO'
Start saying 'no' to things that you don't want to do. Often with low confidence, we put ourselves last and become total people pleasers. No more! Start by saying 'no' to little things until you become better at it.
Whenever you can, and to as many people as you can. It feels good!
FEEL THE FEAR AND DO IT ANYWAY
Doing the things that scare us gives us such a boost to our confidence. If the opportunity comes up to do some public speaking or something equally as terrifying, do it!
TAKE A SELFIE
I hate them, but as in the tip above, I felt the fear and did it anyway. I still don't like them, but they are becoming easier. Seeing myself seems less offensive now. Hopefully, over time, I will be more confident with my appearance.
DRESS UP EVERYDAY
Make an effort each day to wear your best clothing and feel good!
These are just some ideas to help us work on growing our confidence.
